Your logo is the chief cornerstone to your brand identity- without it you don’t have an identity. With that being said, the logo doesn’t have to be rocket-science, though. Some people believe that logo designs must be detailed and over-the-top, but, in reality some of the most effective brands have simplistic and plain logos. (Apple, Mercedes-Benz, Nike)
Tip #1:
A well-designed logo has 2 main parts: typography (text), which is the name of your company, and an emblem, which is a stand-alone symbol that represents your brand.
Tip #2:
As a startup brand, always include your business name text with your logo. When you build brand recognition, your brand symbol can stand on its own and the text becomes optional.
Tip #3:
NEVER use clipart and always, always, ALWAYS consult with a graphic designer for the design of your business logo. Even if you have a logo m, it’s still good to get a professional’s opinion. If you don’t want a $5 brand, don’t get a $5 logo. In order to run a professional business, you must let a professional design your logo.
